Our Philosophy-Surf Mentality
Our aim is to provide surfers with a four day-fun filled session of surfing that will put you on your way to riding independently and safely. Our emphasis is a proper introduction into the surfing lifestyle, and running a camp that is not your typical sports camp. No jumping jacks and push-ups, and if you get tired, you can come in and lay in the sun and enjoy the beach.
Our surf camp runs from 10 AM to 3 PM, with drop-offs anytime between 9:30 AM and 10:00AM and pick-ups between 3pm and 3:30 PM. Drop-off and Pick-up location is at the main entrance of the South Pavilion at the Narragansett Town Beach. One of our instructors will be there to direct students to our beach truck.
All participants are encouraged to take their wetsuits home every day, and clean and dry them out for the following session. This will prevent any unnecessary rashes from occurring.
Surfers can also bring their camp surfboards home with them if they like. Participants who prefer to use their own equipment during camp sessions are encouraged to do so.
Schedule of Events:
Day One- Group separation and gear handouts, followed by beach instruction (including water safety) and then hands on water instruction.
Day Two-Advanced surf instruction with campers broken up into smaller groups
Day Three-Advanced surf instruction with possible alterations based on ability levels
Day Four-Practice session followed by surfing contest based on age and ability (introduction to rules of surfing, etc.) Prizes awarded to participants.
